(good life) for years now i have had  this daydream, this fantasy  of driving in the car with the music

(beneath a thick layer of frosting)  i didn’t know  my birthday cake was made  out of paper and lit

(far away things) The earthy smell of manure From the cows across the street The falsetto buzz of the small

(disaster) my feet run faster  when they’re running towards disaster  across burning coals,  over massive sinkholes- this path takes

(new year, new friend) After December had its last exhale But while her heart still held it near She inhaled

(a sight for sore and grieving eyes) I’d look up to see her proudly perched atop her cat tower

(marinade)  the words left your breath like  hot honey sickly sweet and biting coating my throat, my lungs in  serrano

(new year's display) confetti bursts out of my chest like a rainbow display of  one thousand tiny paper

(sleep for sheep) Over head I watch them leap As they try to lull me fast asleep If I could

(solstice companion) Walking hand-in-leash  On our dark winter street  Trusting my toes, his nose To guide us safely home @paige.
